drops & ordering

how drops work

what exactly is a drop?

a drop is a group buy. we pool pre-paid orders from everyone who wants the same gear, place one bulk order directly with the maker to unlock wholesale pricing, and import it in a single shipment. you get enthusiast kit at a fixed rand price, without doing any of the import admin yourself.

is the price really all-in?

yes. product, international freight, import duties, VAT and clearance are all inside the number on the drop page. the price you commit to is the price you pay. if the rand moves after you order, that's our risk, not yours.

what happens if a drop doesn't fill?

it simply doesn't happen, and you get every cent back, refunded in full to your original payment method. no store credit, no forms, no chasing. we'll also say publicly that it didn't fill.

how do I know how close a drop is to happening?

every drop page has a live fill gauge showing exactly how far along it is toward the minimum it needs to unlock. nothing's hidden. you can see the state of things before you commit.

can I cancel after joining a drop?

while a drop is still filling, yes. get in touch and we'll refund you. once it closes and the bulk order is placed, your unit is part of a confirmed purchase alongside everyone else's, so we can't pull it out. close dates are shown clearly on every drop.

why does delivery take 6–8 weeks?

because a drop is a real bulk order, not warehouse stock. after it closes we place the purchase order, the factory produces or picks it, one consolidated shipment travels to South Africa, clears customs, and then we dispatch to you. we trade a bit of speed for a much better price and zero import hassle, and we keep you posted along the way.

requests

asking for something specific

can I request a product that isn't listed?

absolutely. that's what cur8 is for. tell us the exact product and we do the homework: find the supplier, get real pricing, work out the landed cost, and give you a straight answer on whether a drop makes sense.

does requesting cost anything?

no. requesting is completely free. you only ever pay if it becomes a real drop and you choose to join, at a locked rand price. putting something forward costs nothing.

what happens after I request something?

we scope it, usually within a week or two, since factories reply on their own schedule. then we publish a verdict: it goes up as an interest check with a real price, or we tell you honestly why it can't be dropped. popular requests get scoped first.

shipping

getting it to you

will I get ambushed by customs charges?

no. we act as the importer of record and handle all the customs clearance, duties and VAT ourselves, and it's already covered by the price you locked in. no surprise invoice will land in your name.

where do you deliver?

we deliver across South Africa by courier. once a drop's shipment reaches us and we've checked it over, your order goes out to your door.

how will I know where my order is?

once a drop closes we keep you updated as it moves: order placed, shipped, clearing customs, and out for delivery. when the shipment reaches us we check it over before dispatching your order to you.

payments

paying & refunds

what currency do I pay in, and when?

everything is priced and paid in South African rands. you pay upfront when you join a drop, at the fixed price shown. that's what funds the bulk order and locks your price against the exchange rate.

how do I pay?

through secure checkout, in rands. you can pay by card, instant EFT, or Apple Pay / Google Pay. whatever's easiest for you.

how do refunds work?

if a drop doesn't reach its minimum, you're refunded in full to your original payment method, automatically. if you cancel while a drop is still filling, same thing. once a drop has closed and the order is placed, it can't be refunded, because your unit is already part of the bulk purchase.

what if my order arrives damaged or wrong?

we check inbound stock before dispatching it, and if something is damaged or incorrect we make it right with the supplier. buying direct from the maker means a real warranty path, not a grey-import shrug.

can I return something I just changed my mind about?

yes. within 14 days of delivery you can return an item, unused and in its original condition, for a refund. we'll cover the return shipping. this is separate from cancelling while a drop is still open (see above): it's specifically for after your order has arrived.

about us

who you're buying from

who is syndik8?

we're a South African group-buy platform for keyboard and PC enthusiasts. we exist because great gear is brutally expensive to get here on your own, so we pool orders, buy direct from the makers at bulk pricing, and handle the import end to end. we're new, and we're building a track record one drop at a time.

why should I trust a new platform with money upfront?

fair question, and you shouldn't, on our say-so alone. the whole model is built so trust is only ever needed in small doses: full refunds on drops that don't fill, public fill gauges on every drop, public verdicts on every cur8 request, and supplier pricing confirmed in writing before a drop ever opens. hold us to it.

is the gear authentic?

yes. we buy directly from brands and manufacturers on real wholesale accounts: one purchase order, one payment, one shipment. no grey-market middlemen, no parallel imports of questionable origin. authentic stock, from the source.
